Dr. Ray McClanahan is a podiatrist from Portland who really knows a lot about how to help his clients find the root cause of their foot travails in order to avoid surgery and orthotics. His class with Seattle Reflexology in 2018 was a hit – we had more students in that class than any other class, ever! This year will be a two-part class including certification for those attending day two.
Over the course of the weekend Dr. Ray will educate attendees on basic foot anatomy and explain a natural foot health approach that focuses on building foot strength, restoring alignment, and maintaining optimal foot function. The material will include the background of footwear and how it pertains to foot health, as well as reviewing some of the common foot ailments, including prevention and treatments.
The certification component will be a deeper dive into the approach of treatment and diagnosis; participants will be asked to show practical demonstration of knowledge learned during the second day of the course. Attendees will walk away from the weekend course as “certified in natural foot health” (by and for Natural Foot Health Institute, Dr. Ray’s educational program). Providers and wholesale partners who are certified will be highlighted on our website as trusted resources for our followers who are looking for practitioners and retailers who approach foot health in a similar way to the physicians at Northwest Foot & Ankle, particularly Dr. Ray McClanahan. Additional education materials will be available on an ongoing basis. For information about Dr. Ray and his work visit nwfootankle.com.
